Philosophy: Easy, Correct, Enjoyable

Your relationship with exercise has probably been marked by discomfort, nausea, pain, and a feeling of dread. Why is that? The world has convinced us that the journey to better health has to be agonizing. "No pain, no gain!" This old-school, iron-pumping mentality has pushed so many people away from resistance training, leaving them with lingering injuries and a bitter taste for exercise.

Every day, we see new members look in disbelief when we suggest resting between sets or focusing on proper form. It’s crucial to slow down, let your body and mind adapt, and be patient with the process. The journey you're on requires consistent action and an environment that challenges you just a bit more than you're used to. But if you rush it, you’ll burn out—and end up searching for answers elsewhere.

Here’s what starting slow looks like: one scoop of protein a day (something you actually enjoy), a 10-minute daily walk, 1-2 sessions a week at G.I.F.T. Fitness, and reading just 5 pages a day. These may seem like small steps, but there’s real value in the simple, consistent routines. Flashy might sell, but it’s the steady, time-tested habits that get you to the promised land. Push-ups worked 6,000 years ago, and guess what? They still work now.

Start small—a 10 lb dumbbell press to build your confidence, then gradually adjust your food choices. Work your way up to that push-up. How many of us had a miserable high school experience where push-ups were forced on us when we weren’t ready? No progressions, just a harsh reminder of our physical limitations in front of our peers.

After training hundreds of people, we know one thing for sure: everyone wants to feel welcomed and comfortable in their own skin. That’s what we’re here to do—to show you how to achieve what feels impossible, safely and effectively.

Find what works for you. It has to be sustainable, and within those simple habits, you’ll discover the hard work that makes you feel on top of the world.
